CONNECTIONIST SIMULATIONS OF LANGUAGE PROCESSING

Dr. Trueswell's lab has also been developing connectionist simulations of language processing. Current research has incorporated notions of lexicalized tree adjoining grammar into simulations of the grammatical aspects of word recognition. These studies examine the ways in which grammatical information associated with a lexical item may be stored and retrieved during word recognition. Some of this work was presented at the Neural Information and Processing Conference (NIPS*97) This work is being conducted with Albert Kim and B. Srinivas.
