The Institute for Research in Cognitive Science is pleased to announce CogSci2000, the Twenty Second Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society. The meeting will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, August 13-15, 2000.
August 2000 is going to be a busy time
for Philadlephia hotels. Philadelphia is hosting the Republican National
Convention among numerous other events this summer so we recommend
you make your reservations as early as possible.
Inn at Penn
The Inn at Penn will be the official center for most meeting events
for CogSci 2000. Though a commercial hotel, the Inn is located in
the very heart of Penn campus and has a distinctly academic feel.
IRCS has blocked 200 rooms at this newly opened four-diamond hotel
at a special rate of $149.00 per night (single or double). Please mention

The Divine Tracy
The Divine
Tracy is a unique and somewhat quirky hotel located at 20 S. 36th
Street (1 1/2 blocks from the Inn at Penn). It is run by members of the
International Peace Mission Movement founded by Father Divine and Mother
Divine, and there are a number of rules of behavior and appearance that
guests must observe. They offer rooms for $35.00 per night ($23.00 per
person for double single-sex only rooms); not all rooms have private baths.

The University of Pennsylvania can provide dormitory housing for those seeking
less expensive accommodations. Your room will be in a 26-story air-conditioned
high rise residence hall. The rate for a bedroom (likely to be a single but we
cannot guarantee) with a single bed in a two, three, or four bedroom unit with
a shared bathroom is $40.00 per person per night. YOU MUST
SPECIFY ON YOUR REGISTRATION FORM IF YOU WILL REQUIRE DORM HOUSING
AND HOW MANY NIGHTS YOU WILL NEED. The deadline for dorm room
registration is July 19, 2000.
Hostels
The Bank Street Youth Hostel, located at 32 S. Broad Street in
Philadelphia, is accessible to IRCS and the Inn at Penn by subway or bus and can offer a rate
