Everything mentioned in this FAQ/How To is labeled in the IGERT Seminar Room, and there should always be atleast one printout of this taped onto the desk with the AV Equipment, if not please email me at "manager3401@psych.upenn.edu" and I will be with you as soon as possible.
For all setups the optimal resolution for this projector is 1600x1200 and 60Hz.
PC Desktop:Logging into the PC can be done one of two ways, through the SAS Domain, which requires a SAS Domain account (Ruby, etc you will know if you have one.) Or by logging in through the UPENN.EDU Kerberos Realm which you use your Pennkey to log in with. As far as the VCR/DVD Player just insert your media, press .DVD/VCR. and use the player to control it.
Turning On:
1. Press the ON button on the AV Rack.
2. Make sure that the PC below the control panel is on.
3. At the logon screen select .UPENN.EDU (Kerberos Realm). as domain and then use
your Pennkey to log in (If you have a SAS Domain account you can use the SAS Domain
to log in.)
Turning Off:
1. Close all programs & log off of your account on the PC.
2. Press & Hold then OFF button on the control panel.
PLEASE DO NOT TURN THE DESKTOP OFF.
PC Laptop: Turning On:
1. Press the ON button on the AV Rack.
2. Plug the video cable into your laptop (You may need to use a VGA-DVI Adapter, if so there should be one on top of the AV Rack, it is white.)
3. Press the laptop button on the AV Rack. (You may need to detect displays, on most laptops it is something like Function-F8, there should be some hotkey printed on one of your laptop buttons in blue/green ink that looks like two squares linked together or say "LCD/CRT").
Turning Off:
1. Hold the OFF button until the light starts to blink.
2. Remove the video cable & any adapters from your laptop; if you were using the house adapter please place it back where you found it.
3. Wrap the video cable neatly and leave the AV Rack as you would like it left for you.
If you have a newer Mac laptop you will more than likely need to use a DVI-VGA Adapter, as the video cable from the AV Rack is a VGA connector.
Turning On:
1. Press On (Takes about 30 seconds . 1 minute for projector to warm up)
2. Plug video cable into your laptop (may need DVI-VGA Adapter)
3. If you need sound plug in the audio cable attached to the video cable into your headphone jack on your laptop.
4. Press laptop button on the AV Rack (You may need to go into Apple-> System Preferences -> Displays and click .Detect Displays.) See above for optimal resolution settings.
Turning Off:

2. Remove the video cable & any adapters from your laptop; if you were using the house adapter please place it back where you found it.
