Everything mentioned in this FAQ/How To is labeled in the LCF, and there should always be atleast one printout of this taped onto the desk with the AV Equipment, if not please email me at manager3401@psych.upenn.edu
PC:
Startup:
1. Make sure that PC is turned on (check for green light near power button under CD-ROM)
2. Make sure main switch is set to ON (big red one at top of AV rack)
3. Press "ON" on the black selector box.
4. Press "PC" as your source select on black selector box.
5. Load your presentation/files onto the PC (If you need, ask Laurel to use her USB drive)
6. If you need audio, there are speakers in the ceiling attached to the computer.
Shutdown:
1. Log off account. (Please leave computer on)
2. Press the "OFF" button on the black selector box.
3. Turn main switch to the OFF position.
PC Laptop:
Startup:
1. Power laptop on, make sure it is plugged in if battery is low.
2. Make sure main switch is set to ON. (big red one at top of AV rack)
3. Attach black VGA cable to PC Laptop. (if you need an adapter, see Laurel)
4. Logon for IRCS PC Laptop is "Administrator" "Please See Document in IRCS LCF" (Caps Sensitive)
5. Copy any files you may need onto the laptop. (If you need, ask Laurel to use her USB drive)
6. Press "On" on the black selector box.
7. Press "Laptop" on the black selector box.
8. Press the screen selector button on your laptop (Most dells, it is Function + F8) and on most
laptops it is function + an F key, usually saying something like "CRT/LCD".
9. If you need audio, plug the black "Audio Cable" into your headphone or "audio in" port.
Shutdown:
1. Power off laptop.
2. Press the "OFF" button on the black selector box.
3. Turn main switch to the OFF position.
4. If the PC Laptop you used is the IRCS one, please return to Laurel.
Laptop:
Startup:
1. Make sure the main switch is set to ON (big red one on top of AV rack)
2. Attach black VGA cable to Mac Laptop (if you need an adapter, see Laurel)
3. Press "Laptop" on the black selector box.
4. If after a minute this does not work:
Apple -> System Preferences -> Displays -> Detect Displays (OS X)
5. Load any files you need onto the laptop (If you need, ask Laurel to use her USB drive)
6. If you need audio, plug the black "Audio Cable" into your headphone or "audio in" port.
Shutdown:
1. Power off laptop.
2. Press the "OFF" button on the black selector box.
3. Turn main switch to the OFF position.
4. If the Mac Laptop you used is the IRCS one, please return to Laurel.
